“Search One More Time”- —Okay Lord

The Lord has a way to engage reaffirming teachable moments at the spur of the moment when we least expect it.

Last week, after what felt like an endless search and trying out so many ribbon samples, I finally found the perfect one!

It was in that endless search that the Lord waited for that perfect moment to reaffirm who He is in our lives. 😌

You see, I was about to settle. I was about to give up looking and try to make it work with what I had…

Then I heard, “Search one more time…”

I had searched for almost two weeks! But I knew I just had to trust the Lord and search one more time, even though I had done it so many times and in so many ways with no results!

I have a history with the Lord… 😆

In our relationship, through all the ups and downs… I have learned not to question Him when He says do this or do that... no matter how uncomfortable, difficult, or time-consuming it is. When the Lord says, “Search one more time…” it’s because He knows I will find it!

You see, the Lord will never set us up for failure!

The Lord would never tell us to do something knowing that we will reach a dead end! When He tells us to do something, it’s because He has already made the way for it to be good and successful! He has already prepared it to be found, to be received, to be perfect as He is perfect!

Sometimes, when we search endlessly for something, we don’t find it because it wasn’t ready for us at the time we were searching.

Last week, late Thursday night, just as I was preparing to go to bed, as I was making inventory of the things I had to do the next day… just as I was about to say to Him, “Lord, I wish I could find that perfect ribbon…” before I could form the words in my mind, He said:

“Search one more time.”

— Okay, Lord.

Now, I am not going to sit here and say that my mind did not try to say, “I’m tired!”, “But Lord, it’s past my bedtime!” “But I have looked!” “Can it wait until tomorrow?” Oh, trust me! It did! But I give thanks to the Lord that with His help I’ve learned to push those thoughts aside and focus on Him. We can easily be distracted if we allow ourselves to engage in self-conversations with our own minds! We have to stay focused on the Lord! We have to disengage and replace those thoughts with truth and life. Amen!

It only took me approximately 10-15 minutes to find it! That’s counting the time it took me to get my tablet, wait for it to start, open up the browser, and search for the description I was being given at the time.

There it was!!! It only took a couple of clicks! I found the perfect new color ribbon for the new silk! I didn’t need to wait to receive it to know that it was perfect! I knew it was perfect the moment I found it because it was from the Lord! In fact, I didn’t order a sample—I ordered a roll! (lol)😂

When I received the ribbon, I noticed the label said "NEW" next to the color. This made me smile at the Lord. Only He knew!

As I am typing, I am reminded of the story about the disciples who had been fishing all night. They were tired, exhausted, ready to give up and wrap it up for the night. Then Jesus said, “Cast your nets again…” In spite of how they were feeling, they trusted His leading and ended up with so many fish their nets were overflowing and their boats almost sank.

When He says, “Search one more time,” it’s because He knows we will find whatever He has for us!

Let us not get so caught up in finding what we need that we settle for what we find—that we are willing to “make it work” even when it seems like it’s not good enough. We may not realize that what God has ordained for us in His perfect will is meant to be found in His perfect timing and guidance!

What are you waiting to find? What have you been searching for?

Today the Lord is saying—

“Search one more time…

Trust Me—Seek and you shall find that which is perfect and beautifully fit for what I have planned for you!”

Beloved, Don’t give up.

Don’t settle for less. Trust in Lord.

Wait upon the Lord, for His plans for you are perfect, His timing is perfect just as He is perfect.

In His amazing Love,

Margie
